Are Electricians Considered Essential Service Workers?

As our entire country continues to be affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, we have all struggled to adjust to changes in our normal lives. Not being able to get groceries easily, having to wear masks in public, and separating ourselves from family and friends are sacrifices we must make, but that doesn’t make them any less difficult. However, even in these chaotic times, it’s nice to know that certain things are still the same.

At CMC Service Experts, we are still open for business. How are we allowed to continue operating amidst state-wide stay-at-home orders? It all comes down to what the White House has deemed America’s “essential critical infrastructure workforce.” This includes fields such as healthcare, law enforcement, and public safety and sanitation, which are critical to the daily operations of the country even as we all work to stop the spread of COVID-19.

In a memo released by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency, which functions under the oversight of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, electricians are clearly classified as part of the “Public Works” sector of the country’s essential workforce. In fact, the CISA specifically states that, “Workers such as plumbers, electricians, exterminators, and other service providers… are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences”

This means that you can still count on our skilled electricians at CMC Service Experts to provide all the essential electrical services you need. We want you to know that nothing is more important to us than the health and well-being of our customers and employees, which is why we have increased safety measures to be able to provide the same top-notch electrical work as always without putting our community at risk. Remember to continue practicing social distancing and following the advice of the CDC, and feel free to contact us 24/7 for your emergency electrical needs. If we all look out for each other now, we will come out of this stronger than ever.
